With vegetables and fruit we grow healthy and cute - The first term Another project in which I am taking part in during the scholastic year 2009/10 is ' With vegetables and fruit we grow healthy and cute'. My pupils and I are collaborating with Ms Elwira Weber-Mika from Radlin, Poland. This project is all about sharing healthy recipies so as to promote healthy eating. Ms Elwira and her pupils started off this project by making carrot salad. To make this salad you need: a carrot, lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar. First you have to grate the carrot. Then squeeze the lemon and finally add sugar.

Our first cooking activity was the traditionally Maltese 'Hobz biz-zejt'. Basically this consists of Maltese bread known as ftira with olive oil, tomato paste, tomatoes, tuna, olives, white beans, mint and basil. The pupils enjoyed this activity very much. Finally they ate the 'ftira'.

Another cooking activity that Ms Elwira and her pupils did was potato salad. Below you can see the photos of the pupils making the potato salad.
